Emily Rehm for the I Collect Wigs Series

I mean, how long does one have to wait for a shoot like this to happen? Well, I’ll tell you. One - whole - year. Last year Emily booked a wig series shoot with me and we both got so excited. We’ve been long distance friends for several years now (thank you Instagram for introducing us), her in New York and me in Seattle. When I saw that booking come in I screamed with delight because I KNEW this was going to be epic and I couldn’t wait to start conceptualizing the whole thing with her.

// Then, the pandemic happened.

So she stopped looking into flights and we put our ideas in a little box only to be opened when it was safe to do so.

// One year later, Em is now living in San Diego and we began the planning process again.

She has been the number one fan of the series since day one. She’s the first one to comment on the photos I post on Instagram and like I imagined, she was one of the first to book a wig series shoot with me. She is so creative herself, but wanted me to take the wheel completely and art direct the entire shoot. She just wanted to be dressed up, show up and feel amazing.

Wellllll that’s what happened. I mean, you don’t have to tell me twice. You want that? You got it.

Em, you gorgeous creature. Thank you for trusting me with my vision, your flexibility and excitement. I loved every second of it.
