The Top Knot Doula // Elyse Schroeder

Once upon a time in LA one of my oldest friends, Matt, told me had met the love of his life and couldn’t wait for me to meet her. We met at a local music venue (shoutout to Hotel Cafe!) and the minute I saw them together I knew that was it. Elyse would be in my life from that moment on and for the past eight+ years we have become family.

The fact that I have seen her evolve into such an amazing entrepreneur feeds my SOUL. She has become an incredible doula helping women not only in safely delivering their babies, but educating them so intently on what it even means to bring life into this world. Her tenacity, her knowledge and her warm spirit are things I admire most in her and I am certain her clients as well.

// For her shoot we spent time in her home where she works daily as well as holds classes (normally) with other doulas eager to learn. We also spent some time at one of her personal client’s homes she of course has become friends with (very Elyse to make friends in 5 minutes) guiding her in breast feeding, the tribulations it often causes women and helping make the process go smoothly. She does it all people, including offering online doula services and newborn care classes. Amazing.

One day I’ll want Elyse in the delivery room with me. She on one hand, Zach on the other. I am honored to have helped elevate her business with these images and can’t wait to see what she does next.
